so, I'm spending a quality Monday morning with TurboTax. It just asked me these about income in the following areas:

crime hotline award
compensation for false imprisonment
Ottoman Turkish Empire settlement payments
state legislator travel expenses


and then, my favorite part, was when they asked at the end if I wanted to contribute to presidential campaign funds. I believe that the moment when a person is assaulted with their due taxes is the WORST moment for a politician to ask for money. Is anyone with me on this?

And, is it really in the best interest of the state legislators to announce that their travel expenses are tax-deductible?

I know many of you out there are also in the tax-mire. Keep the faith.
