It could've been funny...

Thursday was ridiculous. My school has a block schedule, which means that on Wednesdays and Thursdays we have 80 minute classes: three on Wednesday and four on Thursday. During my after-lunch class on Thursday, a certain young man thought it would be really funny to hide his phone above the ceiling tiles of my classroom and then have his friend call it once during class, serenading us all with his Office-theme-song-ringtone.

Y'know--that would have been funny.

And it was, the first time.

FOURTEEN calls later, I was not amused.

The call-er is getting suspended. If the other one breathes wrong, he'll end up suspended too. He folded and apologized so quickly that he is getting some grace. This will be really funny soon, but not right now. I have half of the varsity football team in that class, and classroom management was already an issue. I've got my battle ahead of me.

so i don't know if i should say "that's funny" or "that sucks" - i guess office pranks are better on tv than in reality! plus, maybe now we have better insight into andy's punching his fist into the wall after hearing his own rendition of rockin robin so many times and being powerless to do anything about it?

so what's next? your stapler in jello? if that does happen, tell your students to work on their originality. only jim halpert can pull it all off with such panache.
