Someday I'll be able to write a very funny story about being a beginner stick-shift driver, driving at night, in the rain, with a perpetually steamed up windshield, and wide open windows (remember: it's raining!), in a car that has not been driven in four months and therefore occassionally sends billows of smoke into my face, while following fuzzy directions in towns where signage is considered a luxury and lighting is for wimps, and in a country where cellphones require a bank account, bank accounts require an energy bill, an energy bill requires a rental aggreement, a rental aggreement requires certain documentation and documentation requires...well, no one is quite sure what the documentation requires.
But: "someday" is not today.
Happy Valentines.
While I may not need a husband, a chauffer/mechanic/heavy-lifter/commiserator would be really helpful right about now...

So how is the 'driving lesson' going? Have you mastered the skill of shifting while talking on the cell phone and eating a McD's burger with your head out the window looking for directions?
And how are the hills? Stop signs at hilltops tend to be the most exciting!
