She Had it Coming

I have this postcard, and it cracks me up. Why? I don't know. I think it is related to my endless amusement with the "Thin Man" movies, and for everything Film Noir. My favorite part of this postcard is in the bottom corner: "Another Smash Hit by the Author of 'Lady from Hades' etc."

That led me to search for the Lady mentioned, and all I found was a WWII fighterplane:
