As I've mentioned before, I really enjoy reading Books & Culture quarterly, a literary and cultural review for the "thinking Christian" (their words). The most recent edition contained a book review of Innocents Abroad: American Teachers in the American Century. Basically, it's about young Americans who went overseas (either as missionaries or as secular emissaries--think Peace Corps) and the cultural exchange that took place--for good and for ill. The review piqued my interest, but it's not available online. However, here's the amazon link:

Hope the last minute lesson plans are going well! In a month or two can, if you happen to remember, can you remind me about books&culture quarterly. I definitely want to subscribe as soon as I get re-settled. I loved the one you loaned me this summer.
