I don't like Virginia Woolf (except for A Room of One's Own) and I don't like lesbian lit, so why did I think I'd like The Hours? I haven't seen the movie, which is a point in my favor, but after 20 pages it went into the give-away pile. If anyone out there has read it and liked it, let me know. I'm not above giving it a second chance if someone thinks I should.

The Fifty-first Dragon is a cute story from the 1920's, but not worth holding on to. It's too ironic and negative to want to keep it for a child, but not clever enough for adults. It also is in the give-away pile.

I also finished Empire Falls. It's an entertaining read, although I'm not sure it was worthy of the Pulitzer.
